Organs

St Peter Mancroft is home to two organs, one of which is the renowned 1984 Peter Collins instrument.

The Collins organ was built in 1984, and is situated at the west end of the church. It is a mechanical-action instrument voiced and constructed in accordance with eighteenth century organ practice and tradition. The organ is visually, not just acoustically stunning, with lime wood carved screens by Sigfried Pietszch. The words Soli Deo Gloria  ('to God alone be the glory') are carved into the screen above the echo organ.

The organ is used for accompaniment and the playing of organ voluntaries on Sundays, and for concerts/recitals at various times during the year - see the concerts page for further details.
