We are looking to recruit three young people, inspired by our vision, and eager to create space for God in their lives and in the life of our community and city. They will give a year to help us shape our engagement with the city through involvement in our regular round of worship, and through creative engagement with the wider life of the church, for example though music, drama, bell ringing and in many other ways. The project will run from September 2020 to the end of the Summer term in 2021.

How you can help

There are three main ways in which you might be able to help with this project:

Please can you keep these ‘Creating Space for God’ plans in your prayers, asking that God would make sure everything that’s needed is provided, and that Mancroft would be richly blessed as a result.

We need three ‘homes’ for the young people. This would mean a bedroom, a good internet connection, and scope to use the kitchen - and above all a willingness to welcome warmly a young person into your home for the year. If you feel you might be able to help please contact Edward Carter in the first instance.

This project will need financial resources, some of which are already in place. However, we are asking that ten generous people might gift aid £400 each, to allow us to go ahead securely. If you are able to help in this way please send your gift (payable to St Peter Mancroft Church) to the PCC Treasurer, Geoff Loades, via the Church Office at Chantry Hall, and marked ‘Creating Space for God Project’.

If you want to know anything more about this project please contact Fiona Haworth at fhhaworth@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest, and for playing your part.
